The Laona M. Kitchen Foundation was founded to honor mother, grandmother and great grandmother Laona Kitchen, who battled Alzheimer’s disease.
In 2011, the LMK Foundation became a 501c(3) whose purpose is to assist families caring for a loved one with dementia. The LMK Foundation accomplishes that goal by providing short-term respite care to caregivers. Application for the $500.00 caregiver voucher can be made thru the foundation website: www.lmkfoundation.org.
The vouchers are awarded to full-time caregivers experiencing the stresses of being a caregiver to a dementia diagnosed loved one.
Betsy Wade has over 30 years healthcare experience in the area of aging and currently serves as the Program Director for the LMK Foundation. Both Betsy and the foundation President, Gary Kitchen are available to speak to your organizations.
